Voryn Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the Voryn app for iPhone and Apple Watch. Voryn is designed around a privacy-first workflow and uses a no-login model to keep your captured thoughts under your control.

Information Voryn may process

Voryn may process the following categories of information depending on which features you use:

• voice recordings and transcriptions
• notes, todos, journal entries, summaries, and prompt outputs created inside the app
• support messages you choose to send to us
• subscription or entitlement state needed to manage paid features

Voryn does not require a traditional Voryn account to use the core app.

Data storage and sync

• Your app data is stored locally on your device.
• If you enable sync features, data may also be stored in your private iCloud account.
• Voryn uses a no-login design rather than a separate username and password account system.

Permissions

Voryn may request the following permissions so core features can work:

• Microphone to record voice input
• Speech recognition to transcribe spoken input
• Notifications for app reminders or status updates, if enabled by you

Without microphone or speech recognition access, key recording features will not work as intended.

Cloud processing and AI services

Some Voryn features may process your content using on-device components or encrypted network requests to Voryn services and configured AI providers. This can include speech transcription, summarization, or prompt-based refinement features.

Based on the current product architecture, Voryn uses server infrastructure to manage AI-related requests and subscription-linked quota features. Depending on the feature, processing may occur on-device, through Voryn-managed infrastructure, or through third-party AI services configured for the feature.

Third-party services

Voryn may rely on third-party services to operate specific features. Based on the current product setup, these may include:

• Apple services such as the App Store and iCloud
• RevenueCat for subscription management
• AI or cloud providers used to process transcription or summarization requests

These third parties may process data according to their own privacy policies.

Purchases and subscriptions

Subscription management may involve Apple and RevenueCat-related purchase processing. Voryn does not ask you to create a separate Voryn login for subscription use.

Data retention

• Content you create in Voryn is retained by the app and any enabled sync services until you delete it or remove the app data from your device and related accounts.
• Support messages may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, troubleshoot, and maintain service quality.
• If you request deletion of support communications or other directly provided information, we will handle that request within a reasonable time where technically and legally possible.

Data sharing

Voryn does not sell your personal information to advertisers or data brokers.

We may disclose information only when necessary to:

• operate core app functionality through service providers
• comply with law, legal process, or valid government requests
• protect the rights, safety, or security of users, the service, or others

Security

We take reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect the information processed by Voryn. However, no method of storage or transmission can guarantee absolute security.

Children’s privacy

Voryn is not intended for children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app or related support channels, contact us and we will review the request promptly.

Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date on this page.
